Yes. I'm going to totally admit it. I'm dorkishly in love with Superman. Have been since I read my way through the mounds of comics in our next door neighbor's rec room in like 1970 (Explanation: I have 2 younger brothers. Tragically, we lived in the country where the only acceptable neighbor within walking distance had 4 more boys and 1 girl. The girl and I were sadly out numbered - although to this day I still have the hots for Sean Freeman Georges who was my favorite of the brothers. Damn, he grew up to be hawt! But that's another topic...) Anyway, they had piles of "guy" comics, which I adored. Superman, Batman, Thor, Swamp Thing, The Fantastic Four...the list goes on and on. So I started my love affair with Superman (about the same time I started my adoration for Sexy Sean) when I was 10-ish. Chris Reeve was The Perfect Superman, both on and off screen. He's going to be a hard act to follow. But I'm willing to give this new guy a chance.
What do y'all think??

My brother is the big DC comics fan in the house. I can still remember being forced to watch the Reeve Superman movies. I liked Christopher Reeve a lot, but I am not a Superman fan. My dork love affair is definately with Wolverine of X-Men from Marvel Comics.:-) As for this current movie, it should be good. Bryan Singer, who directed the first two X-Men movies directed this one and if he did as good a job as he did on the X-Men films it should be really well done. I know my brother intends to see it.
Oooh! The X-Men director! Excellent. I know they're doing some intersting things, like keeping Marlin Brando's character from the Reeve movies (through the wonders of film, of course). I just hope this Lois Lane isn't as disappointing as Margot Kidder. I hate it when writers/directors think that just because a woman is tough and good at her job that she also has to be the fashion-impaired and manly. Ugh.
Well, if modern tv and cinema are anything to go by, I doubt that will be a problem. Do you ever watch any of the CSI tv shows? All the female characters are smart, tough cookies but they also wear very sexy clothes to work.:-) And Bryan Singer is fantastic. Everyone was so disappointed when he decided not to do X-Men 3 but Brett Ratner did a great job. Sorry, like I said, I am a total X-Men fanatic.:-)
I love Wolverine, Superman, Robin Hood, any man in tights. I think my love for Spandex is rooted in my hair-band days.
>I think my love for Spandex is rooted in my hair-band days.<
Ah ha! This makes total sense Sherri.
I agree PC. I adored Christopher Reeve. But this Brandon Routh is looking quite hawt in this film!
Vivi Anna - Yep, hawt. Seriously. But let's see if he can make Clark sexy, too. And pleaselordplease he needs to be tall.
Jess - I'm with you on Batman. Plus, Bruce Wayn is a friggin gazillionaire. Please. He has a totally great house and an excellent wine cellar.
In the DC comics world, I have to say I like Aquaman. But the reason is I love to swim and it would be so cool to be able to breathe underwater, not having to come up for air. Imagine the pictures you could take.:-)
Okay, I realize that I am totally the odd duck. Not a superman(too perfect) or spiderman(too whiny) or batman(too many inner demons though Robin? HEL-lo!) fan though I read them all. Yes, I have two OLDER brothers.
I have always LOVED wolverine (even pre Hugh Jackman) but the real soft spot in my heart is for Ben Grimm aka THE THING.
Really love that whole blue collar type working class Joe that has a heart of gold. Total sucker for it.
Admittingly the weird one,
moon
I don't think your love of Superman makes you a dork, me lovely. I think you just simply are a dork :) But by God, you are the sexiest dork I've ever seen!
And we all know that I am a total nerd. 100% pure grade A nerd. That's me.
Don't get me started on Scotsmen. They are definately the sexiest men on earth. I always have this incredible urge to check under the kilt.:-)
Moon, honey, The Thing??? Okay, I was going to totally call you a weirdo, then I recalled my deep and abiding love for Swamp Thing, and I'm going to stay silent. Uh, S.T. doesn't even have genitals.
Gena - Hugs and kisses back at ya, Nerd.
Jess & Kathy - LURVE Outlander!! Right now I'm listening to A Breath of Snow and Ashes. I have two words for you: Jamie Fraiser. PLEASE JUST PLEASE. (swoon - falling conveniently on my back with my legs akimbo...)
Well, like a true Super Dork I'm going to see the movie on opening night. So I'll post a review for your viewing pleasure!
PC sweetie, it ain't the looks. It's the man underneath that (pardon the pun) "rocks" my socks.
Besides, with today's advancements in dematology and skin moisturizing products, I think we could help Ben Grimm.
;)
