Just wanted to keep you guys in the loop. WE HAVE NO UPDATED MOVIE NEWS. Yes, the series has been optioned by Davis Films of the Resident Evil franchise for more than two years. I AM WAITING IMPATIENTLY ALONG WITH MY FANS, so refer all of your frustration, questions, casting choices, dreams and wishes for what could be total awesomesauce if, as Stevie Rae would say, "The dang things ever get made!" to my producer, Samuel Hadida, at Davis Films. HoN is probably the best series I have read by far. So that teamed up with the producer of another of my favorite films, Resident Evil should be a awesome outcome! I cant wait to see everything unfold on the big screen. I will be pre ordering my tickets for opening day, cant wait! Congrats PC and Kristen!

Omg! I want the main things to stay the same. I have thought of a cast for the movie. I think alexandria dadddario should be zoey. Im not sure if I spelled that right. Cody longo as stark, kellan luts as darius, nicole laplaca as ahrodite, logan browning as shaunee, aly malchalka as erin, melinda clarke as neferet, liam hemsworth as heath:) this is what I have come up with.

ReplyDeleteThis is so exciting - but I really hope they stick to the "mature" story line I know there are alot of teens out there but these movies should be given an R rating to stay true - I also would like to see lesser known actors - understandable that casting is still long way off but should look into Benjamin Stone as maybe Stark hmmmm idk I just hope that the movies will do the books justice...They so rarely do I am afraid. While I lobed the Harry Pottrt series too much was left out especially when the last movie came out. I think that all studios should get a fan to calibrate on book to movies put em on the payroll - a real fam who can understand that everything can't go in the movie that not everything translates to screen.....I am so available!

I think that no matter what happens this is going to be a fantastic movie. But I have a question....Have you ever thought of getting new actors/actresses? People that you can mold into the characters. People that remind you of them, people that have experiences that are similar. I have seen many movies but the ones that I like the most are the ones with new people because you can see how they really relate to the character, that they care. Just a thought.

OMFRACKINGOSH!!! I luv this series and have bought all but the novellas. Which I hope to get soon. My cousin actually got me into this series and it has become my new fav., replacing the Blue is for Nightmares Series. I luv the characters and the plot is phenomenal. Nefret is the best villain eber, but loren Blake was a tool. Anyways congrats on the movie and I really cant wait to see it, this is a movie I would definitely stand in line for.

I literally rushed to my nearest book store (Hastings) & had to buy your books 'Betrayed' and 'Chosen' at the last 5 minutes until closing time i can't wait for the movie!!!!! It's fantastic if there comes a film of it! i hope the characters look like as in my mind and I hope that the film looks really realistic! I believe Nikki Reed (Rosalie from twilight) would make a good Aphrodite and Zac efron might be a good Eric.

So I want to be really excited for this opportunity for the book series. But my only concern is that the directors and casting wont be what we all expect. I dont want to be a pessimist because trust me I want to see this book series go to the big screen SUPER bad!!! But at the same time I dont want the experience I enjoy when reading the book to become tainted from mis-casting or parts of the book being skipped. Well! I am so thrilled that there's going to be a movie, but I think thaat a TV series would be better, because there to much books and I dont think that like 9 movies will be okay there is to much that can't be skipped. I'm not saying there should not be a movie it's just asking. Oh! and I really want to know when and where are going to be the casting, because I really would like to be in the movie or work in it to practice, because I want to study special effects and all that has to be with movie and it will be an honor for me that when I end my university to work at least on the last movies (I think I'll be graduated for that time)...Really happy and CONGRATS!!! I would audition but I dont think my yorkshire accent would really fit in :/. I am so excited for this! As soon as I picked up Marked, I knew these books had the potential to be amazing movies. And I would love to audition for the part of Stevie Rae Johnson.
ReplyDeleteWhen I first read the series, I always wanted them to be made later in my life, so I could be Lenobia. But re-reading the series for a second time, somethign about Stevie Rae's character just spoke to me. I think it was because she was just so like me in almost every way. I was ust sitting there reading, and suddenly I felt so strongly about getting this role.
I couldn't believe my EYES when I saw this post. I'm right in the age where the HoN characters should be (15, 16 in a couple months), and I one of my fears was that they would cast too old for Marked. I mean, come around time to the Destined and Hidden movies, and those actors who are still supposed to be portraying teenagers could be 35. I hope that I can get an audition for Stevie Rae somewhere, and I want to thank you for the beautiful books you've created and the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity these movies present.

I would love to try out for an audition especially Stevie Rae. She is literally like my twin, and I know everything about the character like the back of my hand. I just love all the characters in general.

ReplyDeleteand the descriptions of the characters are awesome you can just see what they look like as if they are real and standing beside you. i love it and that is why i fell in love with the house of night series, it also gives you something to look forward to in up coming books.
House of night along with other books, are my inspiration and are why i write myself.
OMFG! i love this series and if it wasn't for my weight i would look excatly like zoey. but id say i am more like stevie rae in real life. ive got a lot of cherokee indian on both sides of my family. but im more red neck. ive read the series 5 times since i got hooked in august. i hav no life other than this series so i dedacate all my free time to reading and nyx. i hope i can lose my weight in time for casting an i hope you hav some in macon or warner robins georgia. im 18 plus i can sing i love country music. if i cant get the zoey part ill were a wig an contacts to b stevie rae. i love all animals except bugs (spiders essshhh!!!) an i like non deadly snakes. i cant wait till hidden comes out and neferets book too. then ill have every one. i cant wait till the movies come. i do a lot of visual imaging wen i read so i basicly play a movie in my own head. but i bet the actual movie will b better. any way hope yall come to georgia for casting. cant wait!!!!!

I hope their pick Angelina Jolie as Nerefet can she perfect to play the pert and she got the eyes too and I hope no one pick Megan Fox of Kristen Stewart as Zoey cause can't see them as her and if their put Kirsten S. in the movie it would make another Twilight. Putting Megan Fox as Zoey is going to be a disaster cause she like a sexist and Zoey isn't like that even if she try hard to be like her and my House of Night world and vision would be history and god forbid that won't happen either I'll cry if I found out

ReplyDeleteThe reason why I'm asking is because on the site I really picture how there look in the book too especially Stevie Rae, the Twins, Damien, Jack, Neferet, Stark and Heath(the old picture of him before this one).
I'm excited for the movie to come soon and congrats but I'm just afraid how the characters will be when the movie once it comes out.
Don't get me wrong on this it's I know alot of people got different images of characters but I'm also afraid if there pick the the three main characters from Twilight I'll cry literally if that happen which I know it won't, cause adding those there will be crazy coming from a vampire movie to another but with tattoos that will be another Twilight gone/become Marked.
I'm sorry who every reading this (which I know you are) but please don't get me wrong on this I couldn't keep this in any longer so I had to speak my mind. I understand there some Twilight fan on here but adding those three will mess up the movie and people will say another Twilight movie in a version of Marked. I just completed books 1-10 and I'm excited for the next one. I'm also super excited to hear that a movie is going to be made. I do hope the actors chosen are true to the characters in the series. Very often when a book is made into a movie the actors do not really match up well to the characters. This is a wonderfully written series and I hope it transfers to the big screen and that it doesn't get lost in translation. Zoey Redbird's character should be true to form as in keeping her Cherokee. I think that's a serious must, too often when books are transferred to movie the characters are lost and the story changes dramatically please be true to your fans and try to keep it as close to the series as possible.

I've read all of the HoN books and I'm so excited to hear about the movie coming out soon. I've been into the whole Twilight saga since the very beginning and I didn't want it to end...ever. Since the HoN saga is longer and just a bit better than the Twilight saga, I'm hoping the movies give us fans more than just five years of looking forward to the next movie coming out. If not, I'm still going to be the number one fan of the HoN books and movies. Yay!!!!

I love this series and a few times I have thought about becoming an actress, but I have never had an urge to audition more then I have right now. I don't think there's much hope for me in getting a part due to my red hair (and no I am not willing to dye it) but I would really love the chance to at least audition for a part, and personally I hope you hold the auditions in Tulsa. I'm sure people will flock there just because of that and since it's where the books mostly take place I think it would be really fun to audition where the books take place.

ReplyDeleteOhmygee! I can't believe that this is freaking happening :D I love the whole series and I always try and keep up-to-date about when the next book is coming out. I would love to appear on the movie, even as an extra. But if I had to choose between one character that I identify myself with it's Zoey, I hate cussing/swearing, I'm a brunette, I'm tanned but not that much, I've gone to acting courses when I was a little younger (like 2-3 years ago), but I think you'll probably get a professional to do this role since it's the main one. I'm cool with and extra though, anything to be in the movie! (:

ReplyDeleteI love the way you write ( PC and Kristin) and the way you connect everything in the books.
When I first started Reading HoN, I was absolutely stonned on how Zoey Redbird and I had so much in common. Which is one of the reasons why I love the book series so much...
When I finished reading the first book, I instantly checked every info I could on the authors, so that I could relate the amazing book with the amzing authors.
So now, in this blog, I saw everything related to HoN and when I found out that Samuel Hadida was going to make a movie, tears came to my eyes.Literally!
I was amazed. To compare the image I have on each and every character to the movie characters chosen, sounds pretty amusing.
But I have to say I was even more glad when I found out that there might be open casting calls,because I would love to play Zoey Redbird. Not because of the fame, or even the Money, but because I believe I would do Zoey Redbird so much justice by playing as her. But if the casting is not though open casting calls, I would be very desappointed because I am portuguese, and there is no way I could fly over to America to cast, and maybe get a NO as answer.
But either way, I think it is a terrific idea! And I do hope that it goes perfectly for both the authors and Davis Films.

Ever since i layed eyes on the first book Marked , ive been hooked to the entire house of night series. i have been writting and acting for a while now , almost a full 8 years now. congradulations to ya'll for the book series becoming movies I think it will be bigger than the twilight series these books are more down to earth than twilight. anyways, im sure everyone has there own specific people they would love to cast in this movie but as an aspiring actress I cant help but to want to audition that would be amazing to actually get an opportunity to at least audition if not get a part in the film. regardless of how big or small the turn out will be it would be still great. They need to update and start choosing the cast already (hopefully its a good cast) because i really want to watch the movie!!!! I LOVE the books and when heath died i was bawling and its was so hard to stop, but i was so happy when he was brought back as Aurox. I was also happy when Rephaim didnt die i was crying at end of Destined because i thought he was going to die :)

ReplyDeleteI think that Shay Mitchell from Pretty Little Liars should play Zoey everytime I watch that show and I see her all I think about is Zoey. She is an amazing actor and I believe she would make the movie amazing. And she is gorgeous.

ReplyDeleteI am happy to know you will make a film adaption for the HoN series. I have been waiting so long for this, and I can't wait for it to go on the big screen in my nearest movie theater. I also hope you guys will keep the storyline, and not away from the book by adding extras that have no reason to be there. I have big expectations, but I am positive you will make one of the greatest movies I will ever see.

Aphrodite: Ashley Benson
Neferet: Olivia Wilde
Kalona: Taylor Lautner (He fits the bill <3 )
Jack: Lucas Gabreel (he seems gay enough :P )
Anyway thats what I got for now but there are a lot of people who can fit the requirements :) If there are open auditions, good luck to those who are trying out. :P

ReplyDeleteIm really excited for the movies to come out, I have read Sidney Sheldon Rage of Angels and all the Harry Potter books, so I dont read very many things, but when I picked up Marked I was hooked with the first page and I love it, I cant wait to read the rest of them and the novellas
